RYTHMIQUE is an educational music head start class for toddlers! It is all about rhythm, notes, structure and musical expression using one’s body — the perfect way to prepare toddlers ages 1 to 4 for playing an instrument when they grow up!

Developed by Swiss educator Emile Jaques-Dalcroze about 100 years ago, Dalcroze rythmique teaches concepts of rhythm, notes and musical expression using one’s body (movement). This helps young students develop solid musical foundations through their natural body movements in a way that enhances musical expression and understanding while they are having fun!

ABOUT OUR CLASSES

Age Groups

  • 1 to 2 years old
  • 3 to 4 years old
All classes are for toddlers. Parents are welcome to join and participate! Each class is limited to 5-10 students. Students in our 1-to-2-year-old class must be accompanied by mommy or daddy.

A Curriculum for Each Age Group

Because babies’ minds change rapidly during their first few years of life, our classes are tailored to specific age groups. Students ages 1 to 2 years old enjoy a different curriculum than students in our 3-to-4 year old class.

All Live Music and Instruments

Kids bang tamborines, shake maracas, and stomp their feet to the rhythm while our expert teachers provide live accompaniment on real piano (No CD music).

Small Classes Led by Two Teachers

Classes are small (5-10 toddlers per class), allowing each student to receive maximum attention and instruction. Two instructors in each class ensure each child grasps music concepts.

      In group classes, students who are around the same age learn as a group. Students benefit from group dynamics, and parents enjoy an affordable rate.

        Aloha! I am thrilled to introduce to Hawaii our new educational music head start classes, called RYTHMIQUE Kids!.

        Since 2003, I’ve offered private and group lessons in Pearl City to more than 500 students, some as young as 4 years old. One of the challenges of teaching such young students has been that a majority tend to have trouble counting rhythm and reading notes.

        RYTHMIQUE lessons have been very popular for toddlers in my native country, Japan, and it is truly making huge differences. I strongly believe that RYTHMIQUE Kids! is the perfect music head start class for better preparing toddlers in Hawaii.

        More importantly, it introduces toddlers to a life filled with the joy of music.
